Stop the November 20, 2019 Execution of Rodney Reed!

August 12, 2019

The State of Texas has once again failed to provide justice for Rodney Reed. Earlier this summer, the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals denied Rodney’s latest appeal. The day after Rodney’s family was featured on the front of the Bastrop Advertiser, Bastrop DA Bryan Goertz asked for an execution date for Rodney. Judge Doug Shaver granted the motion, setting the execution date for November 20, 2019.

Rodney Reed is innocent! The evidence that has been uncovered just in the last few years is overwhelming – new forensics analysis shows that Stacey Stites was murdered much earlier than was claimed at trial, and that she was not raped, as the state also argued. The state has fought DNA testing on the murder weapon and is now trying to execute another innocent man!

Rodney’s family and supporters are fighting this grave injustice with all we’ve got! Please stay tuned for updates on how to get involved in the struggle to stop this execution and bring Rodney home! On Facebook, please follow Reed Justice Initiative and We Demand Justice: Free Rodney Reed!

Rodney’s lawyers at the Innocence Project recently filed a civil rights lawsuit on his behalf:

Rodney Reed is visited on Death Row by his mother Sandra Reed, his brother Rodrick, and Rodrick’s son RJ

I am NOT absolutely convinced that this man is GUILTY of the Stacey Stites murder because there are way too many inconsistencies in what the state said and I believe that he did NOT commit this crime, so therefore, he should NOT be executed.

Impeach gov abbot who wants to kill innocent man even though [Jimmy] was talking about his ex-fiance with a lot of hatred and resentment. Jimmy said his fiance had been sleeping around with a black man behind his back.” By the way Jimmy spoke about this experience, I could tell that it deeply angered him. Toward the end of the conversation Jimmy said confidently, ‘I had to kill my n*****-loving fiance.’”

Snow added that Jimmy seemed proud to share this with the Aryan Brotherhood.
before or after impeach the gov

I am 71 years old and a Vietnam War Veteran. If there is new evidence claiming his innocence, then he should be granted a hearing. Rodney has nothing more to lose anyway, and could possibly gain life.
Who are these prosecutors who have placed themselves in the position to play Almighty God ? It makes me wonder what kind of country did I fight for? We’re talking about a human life that has gotten the attention of the public now. We all have just one life and one chance to live it on this earth. Not granting his trial is just flat wrong.

What a cover up because the real killer is a cop. He failed two lie detector tests, he raped another women while on duty. The murder was taken place the night before so it couldn’t be Rodney. S such a tragedy .

Everything I heard on the Doctor Phil show make me believe he’s innocent. He does deserve another trial with evidence that I heard presented. I don’t understand how this has gone on this long. If he’s guilty then flip the switch but let’s not take a innocent mans life if the evidence exonerates him.

Rodney Reed by far deserves a new trial. We as a society should be ashamed of our selves by not moving forward with giving this man an opportunity. Especially with all the new evidence that has been provided. This is not acceptable by any means. I am behind you Rodney Reed!!!!

What if the people who sentenced Mr. Reed to death were in the horrific situation Mr. Reed is in? Wouldn’t they want a expect a fair trial to prove their innocence? Guess what? Rodney Reed deserves to be treated fairly, too. Please do the right thing before it’s too late to correct. My wife prayers for Rodney Reed and his family. I also pray our Heavenly Father will open the heart and mind of Governor Abbott.

I am an Australian and I support the death penalty for people guilty of hideous and sadistic crimes and of mass murder.
Is Rodney Reed really Guilty? I don’t know. At this stage only God knows for sure whether he is guilty or not. As humans we need certainty of his guilt before executing him. Therefore, the State of Texas should do the decent thing – let it do the DNA testing, let it review the evidence against him and give him a new hearing. Submit the police officer who was initially accused to a lie detector test. If everything checks out then Texas must do the right thing – if he is innocent, pardon him and compensate him, If he is guilty, put him to death. But for God’s sake do not execute a man until his guilt is established once and for all.

This is total bullsh*t!! If not freedom, at least give this innocent man a new trial. Her fiance is newly out of prison for the same “type” of crime, they didn’t even search her own apartment that she shared with that monster!! I love the great state of Texas but for God sake Do the Right Thing!!!
